Visiting our showroom: 5 things to consider
When you’ve got a renovation project in mind, there’s nothing better than going straight to the showroom for inspiration. It’s an opportunity to discover options that hadn’t crossed your mind and to see and touch the materials and hardware. Plus, you get to chat about your project with a designer and enjoy some expert advice. So how does a first showroom visit play out? Here are five things to know before you go.
1- No need to plan ahead
Good news: there’s nothing to prepare. You don’t even need to make an appointment to visit the Groupe 3R showroom. Obviously, if you already have inspirations, plans, materials, measurements or criteria in mind, you can get a head start on concrete planning. Otherwise, keep in mind that the goal of the initial visit is to show up empty handed and open minded with solely the desire to renovate. We’ll take care of the rest!
2- You’ll talk about your project with a designer
The showroom experience adds a human aspect to renovation planning: it’s the opportunity for first contact with a designer, who may even end up accompanying you throughout your project. On your first visit without an appointment, you’ll get to chat with the designer in the showroom that day, so take the opportunity to double check your project’s feasibility and get a little more direction to your decisions. If you decide to continue, a designer can be assigned to you for the entire project, or you can stick with the one you just got to know.
3- A no-strings-attached showroom
A showroom visit and a conversation with a designer entail no commitment whatsoever. We believe it’s never too early to seek advice on the reno project running around your head and get a concrete vision of the possibilities, so the visit and consultation are free, and there’s no obligation for whatever happens next. For real. No pressure means you can make the best decisions for yourself!
4- A few key questions not to overlook
It’s a good idea to take advantage of the chat with the designer to ask a few questions. Here are some areas to consider:
- Materials: what are the options and their pros and cons?
- Suppliers: who will you work with?
- Timeframe: how much time do you need for each step, and for the entire project?
- Installation: do you want cupboards and countertops only, or complete turnkey renovations?
- Services: what’s offered, at what price, and what’s included and excluded?
What happens next?
Once the meeting is done, we’ll offer to take your coordinates – again with no strings attached. It just means you’ll receive a call from a representative. Then if you want to move forward with us, we’ll call you to validate your project, create a client file and prepare a bid. You’ll then plan a second meeting – either at the showroom or your place – to take the first measurements.
Highlights to remember:
- free visit and consultation
- no appointment
- nothing to prepare
- bring inspirations, measurements, plans and criteria only if you have them)
- duration of the meeting: plan for a minimum 20 to 30 minutes
- two showrooms (Montreal and Brossard) open Monday to Saturday.
